Shoulder orthoses

Shoulder orthoses are used when the shoulder needs to be immobilised after an injury, an operation or in the case of pain. In addition, they relieve the load on the body and support the healing process.

Effectively relieve strain on the shoulder: Therapy with shoulder orthoses

For shoulder injuries (for example shoulder dislocation ) and shoulder pain, medi offers various splints for children and adults.

medi has a wide selection of orthoses for the treatment of the shoulder joint. Shoulder abduction orthoses allow, for example, a secure immobilisation in different degrees of abduction. It is also possible to keep the shoulder in an external, neutral or internal rotation with the medi shoulder range.

If medically necessary, the doctor can prescribe a shoulder orthosis.

Shoulder joint: Flexible and sensitive to pain and injury

The shoulder joint is one of the most mobile constructions in the human body. This large radius of movement is possible because the joint is held together mainly by muscles, tendons and ligaments, but scarcely protected by solid structures. That is why the shoulder is especially prone to injury. In addition to a dislocated shoulder or a fracture, the "impingement syndrome" (narrowing in the shoulder joint) is one of the most common causes of shoulder pain. Shoulder braces promote the healing process.

Test winner: medi locking systems for shoulder products keep their promises over the long term

Making patients feel safe – this is one of the essential tasks of medical aids. To ensure this, simple and permanently reliable functionality is important. The Textilforschungsinstitut Thüringen-Vogtland e.V. investigated the closure systems of shoulder products from three manufacturers.1 The result was clear: The test winners are the medi products.

This is no surprise, because: Only the shoulder products from medi even reached the requirements for the initial condition with 7.72 N/cm2 after 500 repetitions of closing and opening. These velour Velcro fasteners are used in medi products, for example medi Arm fix.
