Award: “TOP 100” label for medi

medi has been recognised for its innovation management and innovation successes. Science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar presented the prestigious Top 100 award for special innovation and outstanding innovation successes. Managing Director Dirk Treiber and Christoph Schmitz (Marketing Medical and Innovation Lab Manager) accepted the “Top 100” award in 2019.

 

Innovation: a key element of the corporate strategy

medi develops innovative new products, concepts and services using the lead user approach. Using cross-industry networks with experts and users, medi identifies trends, particular requirements and special needs with regard to products. The medi Innovation Lab then links up the relevant areas of the company like in a control centre to establish the innovation result on the market.

Top 100: the competition

Since 1993, compamedia has been awarding the ‘TOP 100’ seal of approval to medium-sized companies with a particular ability to innovate and outstanding innovation success. Under the scientific direction of Professor Dr Nikolaus Franke (Vienna University of Economics and Business), Top 100 evaluates the innovation management of medium-sized companies and the innovation successes which result from this. Franke and his team evaluated around 120 parameters (see the explanation of the criteria at www.top100.de/pruefkriterien). In the three size classes, a total of 262 companies (maximum of 100 per size class) received the award. The project partners are the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung and the Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft (BVMW).1
