The sustainable success of our products ensures our strategic alliances with partners in the fields of medicine, sports and science.

Commitment is prize-winning

Together with partners and institutions, medi presents prizes and awards. It honours and supports scientific work, preventive educational campaigns and health projects.

AGA

With more than 4,000 members, the German Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (AGA) is Europe’s largest specialist society for arthroscopy. medi has maintained this partnership with AGA since 2011 and funds the “AGA medi Award” for AGA members. The prize, which is worth 15,000 Euros, is awarded every two years during the AGA Congress. Prizes are awarded for the best scientific work on the following subjects:

  • treatment of sports injuries to joints
  • rehabilitation after arthroscopic procedures
  • orthopaedic medical devices for aftercare
  • orthopaedic medical devices for prevention

eurocom

eurocom is the manufacturers’ federation for compression therapy and orthopaedic devices. The federation sees itself as an organiser and partner for dialogue in the healthcare market, and focuses on disseminating our understanding of the medical benefits, the efficacy, and the cost efficiency of compression treatment and orthopaedic medical devices. eurocom also develops concepts to ensure that the supply of medical devices is secured today and in the future. Almost all the European companies who are active in the field of compression therapy and orthopaedic medical devices in Germany are members of the federation.

You will find all the information you need about the manufacturers' federation at eurocom-info.de.

GOTS

The German-Austrian-Swiss Society for Orthopaedic Traumatologic Sports Medicine (GOTS) is the world's second-largest association of sports orthopaedic surgeons and sports traumatologists. medi provides sponsorship with a view to improving medical care in the world of professional sports and promoting work with young people in this area. In particular, medi supports the "GOTS medi Fellowship" for the use of sports doctors in training and competition.

You will find full information about the Society at www.gots.org.

DVSE

The task of the German Association for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (DVSE) is to support the ethical practice of evidence-based, high-quality and cost-transparent medicine in this field. medi is interested in ensuring that patients are treated on the basis of the best knowledge sources and data available.

medi therefore feels that it is particularly important to encourage young medical practitioners in order to main the existing high standards. As an official co-operation partner, medi supports the DVSE's National Travel Fellowship with a grant of €4,000 each year. The grant provides funding for two candidates to undertake a two-week study trip to German centres for shoulder and elbow surgery. The prerequisites for applications by junior doctors training to become orthopaedic specialists or trauma surgeons are a considerable level of interest in diseases and treatment of the shoulder and elbow joint and the written support of the application by the Hospital Director.

You will find full information about the association on the website and details of how to apply for the grant at www.dvse.info/fortbildung/reisestipendium-der-dvse.html.

DKG

The German Knee Society (DKG) promotes research, advanced training and continual professional development of doctors, therapists and scientists in the treatment of injuries and diseases of the knee joint. This co-operation allows medi to invite doctors and customers to sit in on operations, for example. This opportunity is used mainly by young doctors to train further and to familiarise themselves with new surgical methods.

You will find full information about the society and possibilities for operation observation at deutsche-kniegesellschaft.de/hospitationen.

German Skiing Association (DSV)

medi is an official supplier to the German national skiing teams. Through our regular discussions with athletes and team doctors, we make sure that our products always meet the needs of top athletes.

Verbandsärzte Deutschland e. V. (Association of Team Doctors)

The provision of optimum medical care in competitive sports is as important for medi as the promotion of research and continuing training. Together with Verbandsärzte Deutschland e. V. and the Society for Orthopaedic Traumatologic Sports Medicine( GOTS), medi has established the "GOTS medi Fellowship" (for the use of sports physicians in training and competition).

Six members of the Association regularly have the opportunity to learn about practical medical care in high-performance sports with experienced team doctors. The programme is supervised by Dr. Hans-Peter Boschert from Freiburg.

You will find full information about the Association and conditions for applications for the programme at www.verbandsaerzte.org/fellows.
