Back orthoses from medi: stabilizing aids for back
Back orthoses are used for various complaints, for example, lumbalgia-acute pain in the lower back), sacroiliac joint syndrome, symphysis pain, facet joint arthrosis, muscle tension and osteoporosis. In the past, rigid support corsets were used. Today, medi back orthoses are very comfortable to wear and easy to use.
If medically necessary, an orthosis for the back can be prescribed by a doctor. The health insurance company usually covers a large part of the costs.

How back braces work
Depending on the indication, orthoses can relieve and stabilize the back and straighten the spine. They can help to strengthen the muscles and reduce pain. Back orthoses are a building block in the treatment of back problems and are used alongside physiotherapy or manual therapy, for example.
A study shows that lumbar spine stabilization orthoses (lumbar orthoses) relieve pain and improve mobility and muscle strength.1
