Lumbamed® facet (new May 4)

A common cause of pain in the lumbar spine region is degeneration of the facet joints, a natural wear of the joint surfaces. This can lead to facet joint osteoarthritis. This is where the Lumbamed facet lumbar orthosis is used: integrated support elements in the back provide relief and stabilization for the lumbar spine. The precise dual 3‑point strapping system allows for individual and stepless adjustment of circumferential pressure around the torso.

The Lumbamed facet can be used for all indications requiring partial relief by reduction of lordosis of the lumbar spine such as:

• Facet joint osteoarthritis
• Intervertebral disc protrusion, prolapse
• Lower back pain (lumbago)

COMFORT MATERIAL

An integrated comfort zone with a two-zone knitted fabric ensures easy donning and a pleasant wearing while maintaining reliable stabilisation. Thanks to Clima Comfort technology with high breathability, moisture is quickly wicked away from the skin.

The Lumbamed sacro is particularly skin-friendly due to its material composition, which combines high-tech fibres with natural fibres (such as eucalyptus). Twelve per cent of the knitted fabric consists of SEAQUAL YARN – an innovative yarn made from recycled PET bottles. On average, this corresponds to a one-litre bottle per product.

COMFORT FIT

A adjusted leg cut‑out in the sensitive bending area and fold‑down closure edges enhance wearing comfort during movement and while sitting.

COMFORT HANDLING

The bilateral hand loops of the Lumbamed facet allow easy and energy‑saving application of the lumbar support orthosis, while the practical finger tab enables opening the orthosis with just one finger. In addition, a helpful hook‑and‑loop closing aid makes fastening easier.

COMFORT EFFECT

Integrated support elements provide enhanced stabilization and relief of the lumbar spine. Individual and infinitely variable adjustment of the circular pressure around the body is enabled by the precise double 3‑point strap system. While force is applied abdominally via the abdominal panel, the lower strap aligns the pelvis and the upper strap supports delordosis. The compressive knitted fabric can improve proprioception. The improvement in proprioception supports the body's own stabilisation.
