Different lengths of mediven® compression stockings

medi offers different arm and leg lengths for medical compression stockings to cater for individual patient care needs. Depending on the indication in question, the doctor can prescribe knee-length stockings, thigh highs or pantyhose, as well as different arm variations if necessary.

Multi-part flat knit fittings and double stockings in oedema therapy

Multi-part stockings:

Combined care must always be considered and prescribed on an individual basis by the doctor. One example of a multi-part fitting can be a stocking CG with a separate glove AC1. Or a leg fitting with thigh stockings AG and cycling shorts ET.

The combination of different products can improve their handling in everyday life and make dressing easier: When washing your hands, for example, only the glove needs to be taken off and not the whole arm sleeve.

The anatomy of the affected body parts can also play a role in the decision for a two-part fitting: For example, significant differences in circumference can be optimally taken into account.

Double stockings:

Double stockings are used to increase the level of compression pressure. Oedemas are often characterised by an excessive amount of pressure when in an advanced stage. Often, the compression pressure and stability of a simple fitting are not sufficient.

To increase the pressure and “wall stability” locally, two stockings can be worn over each other. The doctor treating you must assess and prescribe this individually if necessary. Examples of a double stocking for very pronounced oedema in the lower leg area: Stocking AT and knee highs AD.
