Red Dot Design Award for medi

What is the Red Dot Design Award?

The Red Dot Design Award is an accolade for high design quality. Today it is one of the largest and most important competitions in the world. Its origins stretch back to the year 1955. Red Dot documented outstanding trends in three disciplines and the best designs in the world – from product design and communications design to convincing design concepts.

A jury of eminent designers and experts assesses the submitted products in 18 categories according to strict test criteria before selecting the winners. The "Red Dot" seal guides consumers when choosing certain products, and thus contributes to the buying decision.

Efficacy and well-being united

Besides quality and function, medi attaches great importance to design - a self-imposed standard that has proved to be very worthwhile, because products from medi are regularly awarded renowned design prizes. Why's that? Medical devices from medi are effective and comfortable to wear and, with their beautiful look, are highly persuasive too.

medi has in fact been awarded the "Red Dot: Award Product Design 2011" for two products.&nb

The knee brace Genumedi and the CEP skiing compression sportsocks were awarded the prize for their outstanding product design. A total of 1,700 companies in 60 countries submitted 4,433 products in 2011.

In 2012, medi again received the renowned prize, this time for the CEP running compression shorts (compressive sportswear) in the category outdoor, leisure and sport.

In 2014, true to the motto "In search of excellence", the jury selected the sportsocks CEP progressive+ run socks 2.0 and the shaping pantyhose ITEM m6 shape tights translucent from among 4,815 designs and awarded them the prize in the design category.
