Washing supports and orthotics: For more comfort and durability

Supports and orthotics that are worn directly on the skin are exposed to sweat and skin particles daily. Regular cleaning, such as when you wash your knee brace, is not only hygienic, but also helps maintain the lifespan and functionality of the aid.

Clean supports and orthotics regularly for more comfort

The right cleaning is crucial for your support or orthosis to last and remain hygienic. Please follow the instructions in the user manual for the respective product. With the right cleaning, you can ensure that the material retains its function and is comfortable to wear.

Washing supports and orthotics – how to do it right

Before washing, close all velcro, zippers, or straps. In most cases, it is recommended to wash a support or orthosis by hand – with lukewarm water in a gentle wash cycle at 30°C with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softeners, harsh chemicals, or bleach. Please clean the removable pads and cushions separately with water or mild soap and water. Supports and orthotics are not suitable for dry cleaning.

Tip: Clean your support or orthosis in the evening so it can dry overnight.

Allow the freshly washed support or orthosis to dry completely in the air. Do not place the aid in direct sunlight or on a heating source. Please do not dry with a hair dryer or put in the clothes dryer.

Can I apply body lotion before wearing the support?

It is recommended that no creams or lotions be applied directly before wearing, as they can affect the material properties of the bandage.

Tip: Use your skincare products in the evening after you remove your makeup.
