Amputations at the level of the pelvis lead to considerable restriction of function.
According to the German Severely Disabled Act, these patients have an exceptional walking handicap - classified as "aG".
The patient can generally only move around on crutches and can only walk short distances with a pelvic socket prosthesis. Activities of a sitting nature, without needing to walk too far and with protection from the weather, can be reasonably expected.
