They are pulled over the residual limb and secured with a locking device inside the socket. During wear, a liner holds the residual limb in a regular shape and its characteristics are gentle and protective on the skin. Silicone liners are available in various designs, depending on the needs of the user and mobility class with and without a textured coating.
