medi hospital butler

Our patented donning aid, the mediven hospital butler, allows patients and care staff to put on mediven thrombexin anti-embolism stockings and mediven struva wound dressing aids more easily.

The procedure is pain-free and wound dressings do not slip out of place. In addition, damage to the stocking is avoided.

How it is done:

  • Measuring: taking accurate measurements for the stocking ensures that the patient receives the optimum medical care.
  • Selection: the ankle measurement determines the size and therefore the selection of the appropriate stocking. By pulling up the locking device, the width of the mediven hospital butler can be adjusted so that it can fit over the ankle and, if required, over the calf of the patient without making any contact.
  • Arranging the stocking: the top band is slipped over the frame and the stocking is pulled on until the colour marking becomes visible at the upper edge of the frame.
  • Holding the stocking: continue pulling the stocking firmly down over the frame until the colour marking is located at the patient’s heel.
  • Push up the medi hospital butler: now release the stocking and push the mediven hospital butler over the ankle and – if possible – up as far as the patient’s knee. Withdraw the mediven hospital butler downwards.
  • Finish pulling up the stocking: pull the stocking up towards the groin; the pressure applied  determines the length of the stocking.
  • Check: make sure that the fit is correct and check that there are no wrinkles in the fabric.
