For below- and above- knee amputations
Indications:
- Mobility classes 1 and 2
Cannot be used
- For sporting activities
- In combination with swimming prostheses
- For mobility classes 3 and 4
- During strenuous physical activity
- With prostheses in combination with carbon spring feet
Properties:
Shock absorption: the forces generated on heel strike are absorbed by the deformation of the carbon system. The impact forces felt by the user are reduced and stored in the form of energy in the carbon system. This relieves the stresses and strains on the whole articular chain.
Acceleration: the energy absorbed by the carbon system at heel strike supports the user when walking. This reduces the effort for the user.
Safety: during the mid- stance phase there is no deformation of the carbon system. For the user this means stability and extra safety under full loading.
Force minimisation: the transition from the mid-stance phase to toe-off is made considerably easier by the flexible carbon system. The transitions, which users often describe as feeling a tangible resistance, are transformed into a harmonious and energy efficient gait. Rollover over the forefoot is made easier.
Rotation: the innovative construction with two carbon rods permits rotation within the CB system. This reduces the stresses on the residual limb and increases comfort for the user. This simplifies rotation and avoidance manoeuvres in closed spaces or crowds of people and allows for the natural leg-pelvis rotation.
