Does the doctor advise liposuction?

Surgery in the form of liposuction (literally suctioning off fat) is feasible. Good results are possible with this method provided there are no marked variations in weight afterwards or rapid gains in weight.

Otherwise there is the risk that after a certain time, folds of fat will recur.

Pits in the skin can develop after liposuction, but these can be largely avoided by wearing special compression clothing. It is essential to determine prior to liposuction whether or not the lymphatic system is also already affected by the disease; if so, such surgery cannot be used.
