Knee disarticulation results in a fully weight-bearing stump that can be fitted with a very satisfactory prosthesis.
In the German Severely Disabled Act, such patients are classified as "G".
If the prosthesis sits properly and the condition of the residual limb is normal, wearers can walk moderate and even longer distances and they can be expected to walk distances to work. If possible, the activity should not involve moist or damp conditions (risk of rubbing).
