24-hours-a-day compression therapy after surgery is essential to prevent small channels and “gaps” occuring in the fatty layer below the skin.
The compression makes sure that the remaining fatty cells are evenly distributed, that the gaps are filled, and that a smooth silhouette is formed. The patient has to wear a correctly fitted medical compression garment for a period of time determined by the doctor (4 to 6 weeks). This prevents the formation of “waves” in the skin, promotes shrinking of the skin, and reduces the formation of postoperative oedema and haematomas (bruising).
lipomed supports and stabilises the outcome of surgery after plastic/cosmetic procedures, e.g. liposuction and liposculpture, tummy tucks or cosmetic breast corrections (augmentation, reduction, breast lifting). lipomed also supports slackened connective tissue, e.g. after pregnancy or in cellulite.
Practical features, simple handling and the highest finishing quality satisfy the high demands that doctors and patients place on modern medical compression garments.
lipomed is particularly comfortable to wear thanks to its excellent active breathing properties – even in the summer months. The effective compression optimises moulding and largely prevents irregular contours.
lipomed is latex-free, has active breathing properties and is permeable to moisture.
